Access is available to a limited number of Public Access Workstations and to a limited number of Library Catalog Only workstations. Osher Lifelong Learning users have KU Online IDs and Passwords and library workstation access for membership term. |
| Laser printing | Requires KU Library Borrower Card with active Beak ‘em Bucks account and value in account. No cash options; limited free printing is available in Anschutz and Watson Libraries for users who provide their own letter-size paper. See Copying and Printing for additional information. |
| Photocopying and microprinting | Requires KU Library Borrower Card with active Beak ‘em Bucks account and value in the account. Cash options are available for photocopying in all locations and in some locations for microprinting. See Copying and Printing. |
| Check out circulating library collections | Requires a valid KU Library Borrower Card. Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members must purchase a KU Library Borrower Card. |
Online renewals of circulating library materials checked out for six weeks |
Requires a valid KU Library Borrower Card and login with KU patron barcode (last 8 digits of 16-digit number on front of KU Library Borrower Card). Up to five online renewals are possible for Reciprocal Borrowers (current student, faculty, staff at Kansas Board of Regents institutions, at Haskell Indian Nations University, or with UMKC Courtesy Card). Resident Borrowers (Kansas Residents, KU Alums, Non-Regents institutions of higher learning) may renew items online twice. Long-term loan items checked out for six weeks may be renewed provided they have not been requested by another patron and the borrower owes less than $80.00 in library fines, fees, and lost item charges. Place Recalls for items checked out to other borrowers (only items checked out for 6 weeks or longer are eligible for recall) |
Requires a valid KU Library Borrower Card and login with patron barcode (last 8 digits of 16-digit number on front of borrower card) and last name. Confirmation of the Recall request will require re-entry of the 8-digit barcode number. |
Retrieve from Shelf Service |
The Retrieve from Shelf Service is available to Other Library Users only for items shelved in the Library Annex. Requires a valid KU Library Borrower Card and login with patron barcode (last 8 digits of 16-digit number on front of borrower card) and last name. Confirmation of the request will require re-entry of the 8-digit barcode number. |

Proxy Card Privileges |
Service not available for Other Library Users. Exceptions may be possible in ADA situations. Contact the Circulation Business Office in person at the Watson Library Service Desk (8 a.m.—5 p.m., Monday—Friday), by phone to 785.864.4715, or via email to libfines@ku.edu to request an exception. |
Off-campus access to KU Libraries databases and e-journals |
Service not available for Other Library Users. Osher Lifelong Learning members have in-library workstation access for membership term, but do not have off-campus access to electronic resources. Many of the databases and e-journals may be used at the Public Access Workstations in the Lawrence and Edwards campus libraries. |
Electronic Course Reserves |
