The University of Kansas Libraries
KU Card (KU Students, Faculty, Staff, Affiliates)
The KU Card is the official identification card for all students, faculty, staff, and affiliates of the University of Kansas. This includes all emeritus and retired faculty and all other retirees of the University of Kansas. All KU students, faculty, staff, and affiliates are required to present the KU Card to check out or renew library materials and to request library services.
The last 8 digits of the 16-digit number on the front of the KU Card are used as your library barcode number. The number starts with 6017 4303. Your barcode is the last 8 digits of the number. Enter the 8 digits with any leading zeros, but without dashes or spaces. For example, with a number of 6017 4303 0000 1234, you would use 00001234 as your library barcode, also called the patron barcode.
The KU Card is issued by the KU Card Center. The KU Card Center (785.864.5845), located on level 4 in the Kansas Union, is open 8:00 a.m.--4:00 p.m., Monday--Friday. Students enrolled at the Edwards Campus may acquire the KU Card at that location.
