Annex Selection Schedule

KU faculty are encouraged to participate in a review of Watson and Anschutz library collections to determine which titles can be moved to the west-campus Annex and which should be held in open-stack collections in the main-campus libraries. All materials in the Annex are cataloged and may be requested for retrieval with 24-hour delivery.

Open-shelf Review: Faculty are welcome to review collections in the stacks during these dates. Options for identifying titles that should be re-classed to Library of Congress numbers and kept in main-campus collections include:

  • Mark using flags or forms. A flag, with your contact information, should be inserted in each volume recommended to stay in the browsable collection. Please place the volume on its spine, with the flag facing outward, so we can easily retrieve it. A form submitted either via email or left at the Service Desk, can also be used to indicate your recommendations.
  • Move titles to processing immediately in collaboration with Rich Ring (864-3425; richring@ku.edu ), our primary selector; or Lea Currie (864-8997; lcurrie@ku.edu ), Head of Collection Development. Please call or email for an appointment.

Physical Review by appointment: Collections will be moved into closed-stack areas for Annex processing. They may still be reviewed to identify items for the open stacks during these dates.
