Its geographical scope is continent-wide, listing monographs, articles, and chapters within edited works. Its subject scope is principally in the social and environmental studies, development studies, the humanities and the arts. The medical, biological and natural sciences are only selectively covered. It lists resources published in English, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Kiswahili, Spanish, and Afrikaans.
