Italian Renaissance Sculpture Conference

The seventh quadrennial Italian Renaissance Sculpture Conference (aka: Provo/Athens) will convene at the University of Kansas 8-10 November 2012. William E. Wallace, Barbara Murphy Bryant Distinguished Professor of Art History at Washington University, will deliver a plenary lecture the evening of Thursday, 8 November, followed by a reception. Papers will be presented on Friday and Saturday 9 and 10 November. The conference coincides with the exhibition Giorgio Vasari and Court Culture in Late Renaissance Italy on view at the Spencer Museum of Art from 15 September to 27 January 2013. Registration is required. This conference has been generously sponsored by the Samuel H. Kress Foundation, Art Mentor Foundation Lucerne, Spencer Museum of Art, Kress Foundation Department of Art History, European Studies Program, The Commons, and Center for Global and International Studies.
