General Meeting
- Julie will shop for refreshments instead of Nancy.
- Julie will check with Nancy on the progress of the pop quiz.
- Meredith has the t-shirts for the door/quiz prizes.
- Kristin brought back pencils from the Library of Congress to contribute to the prizes.
- The t-shirts could be given for the door prizes and the prizes for the pop quiz could be candy & LC pencils.
- Julie will talk with Lanis or Jo Nell about getting raffle tickets for the door prize.
- Create a survey of examples of possible activities to determine the level of staff interest. (Would you be interested if the staff organized a group to go to T-bones; symphony, t'ai chi class, etc.?)
- Include question in survey about KULSS webpage for support staff resources (If there was a page on the website that listed useful resources (ie. job training, tuition assistance, career services) what type of resources would you like made available to you?)
- Jill will create survey
- Julie wrote up a report of our accomplishments and also listed staff kudos. She'll send a copy to Lorraine.
Group Reports
Group 1 (Kyle):
- Anne Hayden's last day in Acquisitions/Serials (Records Team) was June 25th. She has moved to Indianapolis.
- Preservation had a mini-retreat with Deb Ludwig. It was a good opportunity to learn about what's happening on a grand scale. The discussion was framed from the operational plan and covered other projects that leadership is currently working on.
Group 2 (Adam):
- Laura Kitzmiller has started in Cataloging. Adam has already contacted her welcoming her to the libraries and letting her know about KULSS.
- Adam's unit had a record breaking year for sending items to the Annex.
- Later this month Mary Roach is having an annual ALA giveaway meeting and Cataloging will also have an accomplishments party.
Group 3 (Sheila): Nothing to report.
Group 4 (Meredith):
- Mary Ann Baker mentioned the upcoming food drive in the staff meeting. Please contribute food!
- Demolition in Spencer has started on the office for the new Special Collections Librarian. The interviews for this position have been completed.
All Groups:
- Building update--Watson's main elevator is not working. Kent sent out an email advising that it will be fixed in a minimum of 2 weeks but it will probably take longer. They will be parking a crane in the back dock in order to fix the elevator.
- On Wednesday during Hawk Week, pending Kent's approval, there will be a dunk tank in front of Watson to "Dunk Your Librarian."
