Group Reports:
Grp 1:  Acq/Ser, Reference, Collection Development, Administration, Facilities

  • Lanis Atwood begins as the Assistant to the Dean on Monday Dec. 4

Grp 2: Cataloging

  • Will soon have 2 new Library Assistants under 1-yr term contract.
  • Dec. 19th celebration for 100,000+ volumes in the permanent Annex.  There will be tours at the permanent Annex from 10am-12pm and food from 12-1pm (BTW: Dec 20th is still KULSA annual holiday party).
  • Dec 18-21st Voyager will be down for an upgrade.

Grp 3: Access Services, Mail Room, ILL

  • No reports

Grp 4: Anschutz, Music, Art, Spencer, RCL, Annex

  • ANSCHUTZ:
    • Interviewing for Night/Wknd supervisor position.
  • MUSIC: “I'm sure you have seen the notices by now about Jim's performance in Hamlet with the Lyric of KC, and my election to the foundation board of Mu Phi Epsilon, an international professional music organization. Please also spread the word for me about the KULSA holiday party needing volunteers for a group choir to sing secular music--send names to me. Thanks! –nh (Nancy Hawkins)
  • ENGINEERING: “As the semester ends, the desperate needs of patrons surface as their deadlines loom in the immediate future.  Along with all of the other libraries, we are sharply perfecting our skills to assist these poor, procrastinating souls.  However, we aspire to continue our reign as the greatest library in the world by spicing up our recipe for success, of which the secret ingredient is love.

KULSA Announcement:
Lea Currie and Monica Claassen-Wilson are coordinating and will send out a call for volunteers. 

Nancy Hawkins is coordinating the music for the Holiday Party and is seeking volunteer singers to carol secular tunes.  Please send her your name(s).

Per email by Donna Brewer, Vice Provost Denise Stephens has said KULSA is allowed to continue use of the website and email for holiday adoptions this year. 

  • The most up to date site is http://www.lib.ku.edu/kulsa/   maintained by Alex Slater (contact him with gifts you have or intend to purchase)
  • Please bring your gifts to Watson 503B on December 8 before 1 pm.  If you are unable to bring your gift on that date, contact Channette Kirby to make other arrangements. 
  • If your gift is a monetary one, please send checks made out to KULSA, to Shannon Royer by December 8. This money will purchase gifts and provide grocery gift certificates for a holiday meal.

NEW THIS YEAR:

  • Bring your gifts wrapped if you are purchasing for an adult.  Gifts for children should be unwrapped; wrapping of these is done by the recipient family.
