Meeting Updates:
Management Council 6/13/07Budget presentations from all department heads.
Day-long Management Council Retreat scheduled for Thursday, July 19th, 2007.
Overtime policy reviewed (not changed)
Communications Strategies Task Force (stakeholders, new standing charges)
Meeting with the Dean and HR Officer 7/17/07
Position vacancies and internal announcement. Email is considered in writing and the best way to communicate with staff. Job posting would like to be IS-wide ideally. Like to announce library wide after search committee is formed.
Are HR needs distributed among staff. Donna is first point of contact for HR issues, who will refer to Rita. Rita will be a contact directly about student positions only.
Recommeded to send staff to ALA. Seemed a good idea. KULSS updated staff of upcoming conferences and policy. Is there a pile of money for support staff? Not as there is for librarians, but there is money and it must be applied for.
Idea of allowing people venues for Presentation practice, Dean suggests this is a good Brown Bag activity. Also suggested Jill and Monica give their presentation on Suuport Staff Workshop to ISPDC.
OCDA survey results shared with staff? Results skeletal at this point. University of Maryland will send final report by end of summer. All-staff presentation of final report to follow.
