Conservation Resources for Private Individuals

We all own books, documents, photographs and other items that mean a great deal to us that we want to save for future generations. The University of Kansas Preservation Department cannot offer its services to private individuals; please turn to the following list for conservation work or consult the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) to use its online form to find a conservator with the specific expertise you require. Professional Associates and Fellows in the AIC have passed the scrutiny of their peers in order to garner this designation. Conservation treatment performed by a highly trained professional may be a time-intensive process and cost a great deal. However, some conservators or businesses will be happy to talk to you and provide an initial consultation free of charge. This list of individuals and businesses does not constitute an official endorsement by KU Libraries.
