KU Libraries to provide Honors Program Research Seminars

In the Fall 2008 Academic Term, the KU Libraries will be partnering with the KU Honors Program to offer Honors 492, 1-credit Research Seminar Courses titled "Research Methods & Information Literacy ".

These classes will be structured around the three major disciplinary areas:

  • Humanities and Fine Arts - Mondays and Wednesdays 1:00 - 2:20 P.M. (Class Number 44319)
  • Social Sciences - Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00 - 2:20 P.M. (Class Number 44321)
  • Science and Engineering - Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:30 - 3:50 P.M. (Class Number 44320)

The courses will run for an 8-week period starting the week of September 29, 2008 (seventh week of the term) and running through the week ending Friday November 21, 2008 (week prior to Thanksgiving.) The courses will be taught primarily in the Honors Program learning spaces in Nunemaker Center.  The courses will bring in disciplinary faculty and associated library subject specialists throughout the course to provide students with perspectives on what it means to be a faculty researcher, and dimensions of library and information research.
