- Document Delivery is a service that can help you use your research and study
time more wisely. At your request, library staff will retrieve and photocopy articles from periodicals
in The University of Kansas Libraries.

- Document Delivery is available to KU Lawrence and Edwards campus faculty,
staff, students and authorized affiliates. It is also available to KU Law patrons.

- Articles located in print journals that the KU Libraries own are eligible for Document Delivery.
- Items NOT eligible for Document Delivery:
- Articles located on microfilm, microfiche, or electronically through a database.

- 1. Check if the KU libraries owns the item that contains your article by checking the Library Catalog.
- 2. Note the call number and the location where the item is being held.
- 3. Go to WebRetrieve and log on.
- 4. Select the "Request an Article - Available in KU libraries" option.
- 5. Complete the form with all the required bibliographic information.
- 6. Submit request.

- There are no copyright restrictions if you are using the copies requested for
private research and study.

- First you will receive an email notifying you when your articles have been delivered to WebRetrieve.
To retrieve your articles, login to WebRetrieve and click on "Electronically Received Articles." There you can download or print your articles.

- Your copies will remain on WebRetrieve for 14 days after you have received your
email notification.

- Articles will be ready within three working days if periodicals are on the shelves.
Turnaround time excludes weekends and university holidays.
Document Delivery occasionally has slower turnaround time at the beginning of the
Fall and Spring semesters due to Electronic Course Reserves which are processed by the same staff.
An Alert will be posted on the Request Materials page when this occurs.

- Yes. If you place a large amount of requests at once, expect it to take longer than
three working days to process all of them. Some requests will not be filled depending on whether
we have access to the item you need. Some reasons include:
- Periodical or volume not owned by the library.
- Periodical or volume not located on the shelf.
- Article not found as cited.
