Digital Imaging

The Media Lab in the Research and Learning Division office, located on the 4th floor of Watson Library, offers KU faculty and graduate students specialized instruction, staff expertise, and access to state-of-the-art equipment necessary for creating and editing digital images, sound, video, and text. Media Lab staff consult with users on imaging standards and best practices and provide instruction and guidance on digital concepts, digital production and project management.

The Media Lab provides training for faculty and graduate students on all lab equipment and software for the production of educational and research materials. The Lab offers a suite of equipment and software to:

  • capture digital image
  • edit still images, video and audio
  • tag, mark-up and analyze text files

  • Epson 10000XL Photo Scanner with Automatic Document Feeder and Transparency Lid

  • Mac Pro Audio/Video Conversion and Editing Workstation

Multimedia Conversion and Creation

The Research and Learning Division has the tools and expertise to help faculty and graduate students to manipulate and create multimedia. For conversion the center makes available audio cassette, VHS, DVD and Digital8 conversion equipment. Available software includes Adobe CS4 Design Premium and Final Cut Studio.
