Importing References into EndNote and RefWorks

Many bibliographic databases offer the ability to export references, and/or import them into reference management tools like EndNote and RefWorks.

Detailed instructions for importing references from databases available through the KU Libraries are available. Click the dropdown for the tool you use (EndNote or RefWorks) and select the database from which you'd like to import (such as ArticleFirst, ERIC, or PsycInfo).

If you can't find the database you're looking for, or need more assistance, email training@ku.edu for help.

EndNote Import Filters

If the instructions for a given database don't work for you, you may need to download an updated import filter for that database. EndNote provides these filters free on its web site (see links below).

For Windows: ftp://support.isiresearchsoft.com/pub/pc/filters/

For Macintosh: ftp://support.isiresearchsoft.com/pub/mac/filters/

Be sure to save the filter files in the Filters folder where EndNote is installed (in Windows, this is usually C:\Program Files\EndNoteX1\Filters), so that EndNote can find and use them.
