Four student employees at the University of Kansas Libraries received the Dean’s Award for Student Employee Excellence in May. The 2018 winners were Noah Kenn, Sara Neal, DeAun Myers and Hannah Smith.

“The winners of this award have proved themselves to be irreplaceable workers and I am so grateful to them, and to all of our student employees, who maintain the services and operations at KU Libraries,” said Kevin L. Smith, dean of libraries.

Noah Kenn works as a student assistant in the content development department and was nominated by Sara Morris. He has worked for the libraries for over two years.

Sara Neal is a student assistant in the conservation services department. She started in February 2015 and was nominated by Roberta Woodrick.

DeAun Myers is a circulation supervisor at the Watson Library circulation desk. She has been employed since fall 2016 and was nominated by Taylor Keister and Christen Caton.

Hannah Smith works in the cataloging department. She started two years ago and was nominated by Claire Krieger.

Created in 2010 by Lorraine Haricombe, former dean of libraries, the Dean’s Award for Student Employee Excellence recognizes dedication and service excellence. The winners each received a cash prize of $500.
