The Center for Research Methods and Data Analysis (CRMDA), located on the 4th floor of Watson Library, offers open hours for statistical consulting. Open Consulting is for researchers and students at all levels. Please feel welcome with novice questions as well as highly complex ones.
GIS & Data Lab
The GIS & Data Lab facilitates the KU community’s use of digital data, such as geospatial, quantitative, tabular, and textual data. KU Library staff have expertise in digital humanities, geographic information systems, government information, and research data management, and we support statistical consulting via CRMDA. We can help you collect, organize, analyze, and visualize data, and with access to software and tools. The Lab is located on the 4th floor of Watson Library (room 425), the sunroom across from the main staircase.
Drop in and use the Lab whenever Watson is open. Contact us with questions or to set up a consultation with a staff member. Many of the powerful computers have two monitors, and provide access to software and data, not likely installed on personal or other public computers. This includes:
- Adobe Design Suite Pro
- Business Analyst: ArcGIS with specialized data & tools for market planning, territory design, marketing, etc.
- Camtasia Studio 7
- Colectica Express
- Google Earth Pro: geocodes in bulk, reads shapefiles
- oXygen XML Editor
