OER advocacy: Major gift donation in support of the OER Grant Initiative at KU Libraries

In addition to serving as the Outreach and Technology Coordinator for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine MidContinental Region, Margie also serves as the Chair of the KU Libraries Board of Advocates, the chief volunteer group of KU Libraries.

Why support OER?

“Even a small gift has the potential to impact a lot of lives and change the course of a student’s success in a class. Supporting the OER grant initiative empowers faculty to create their own intellectual property and create something that can positively impact their students.”

Raising awareness:

“The more we have presentations and events that focus on open access, the more we can bring awareness to parents, students, and faculty that these open resources exist. A dedicated gift to OER has the potential to change the lives of students and faculty at the University of Kansas and elsewhere — even nationally and globally.”
