Deadlines and Dates

Entry deadline and judging dates will be announced in early 2013.

Prizes

Awards will be offered in both Graduate and Undergraduate divisions.

  • First Prize: $600
  • Second Prize: $400
  • Honorable Mention: $100

Each winner will receive a cash award and a gift card from Jayhawk Ink, a division of KU Bookstore.

Awards Reception & Ceremony

The winners of the 56th Snyder Book Collecting Contest at the University of Kansas were honored at a reception on April 19. Dean Lorraine J. Haricombe presented the awards to the students, and James Gunn, KU English professor emeritus and noted science fiction author, delivered a keynote address.

Judges for this year's contest were James Gunn, who spoke at the event; Beth Whittaker, head of the Kenneth Spencer Research Library and Howard Graham, Learning Services Coordinator at KU Athletics and a former Snyder contest winner.
