Acceptable Use Policy
for images provided by the Department of Classics of the University of Kansas
Who are authorized users?
- Full or part-time KU students, in both degree and non-degree programs
- KU faculty and staff, including emeritus faculty
- Visiting scholars and researchers or other authorized affiliates
- All of the above may have access from anywhere.
- In addition, non-KU users may have access on the KU campus on any publicly-available workstations
What may authorized users do?
- Use Classical Heritage images and derivatives for educational, research, and personal use on a not-for-profit basis, that is, in lectures, classroom seminars, student papers, assignments, presentations, and theses
- Download and/or duplicate images for use in presentation software
- Incorporate images into Blackboard or a similar system, so long as access is restricted via a password or other means
- Use a reasonable number of images in electronic reserves for specific courses, where access is restricted to instructors and to students enrolled in the course and is limited to the duration of the course.
What may authorized users NOT do?
- Place Classical Heritage images on the Internet or any other form of electronic display (except as specified above), for example, on a web page that is open to non-KU users
- Use images in the preparation of any publication, scholarly or otherwise, or for any purpose other than teaching or research.
