This encyclopedia presents articles on chemical substances including their properties, manufacturing, and uses. It focuses on industrial processes and unit operations in chemical engineering, and also covers fundamentals and scientific subjects related to the field. Environmental and health issues concerning chemical technology are also addressed.

Engineering resources including reference handbooks with data sets and textbooks.

Electronic full-text of journals and books on the Earth sciences that have been published by the Geological Society of London. Specifically, the Journal of the Geological Society, Quarterly Journal of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, Geochemistry: Exploration, Environment, Analysis Online, Geological Society Special Publication series, Engineering Geology Special Publication series, and Geological Society Memoirs.

Provides indexing and abstracts to technical reports from both U.S. and non-U.S. sponsored research. Compiled by the U.S. National Technical Information Service, the database covers topics in the sciences, engineering, business, and social sciences. Users must register with NTRL and accept terms and conditions to gain access.  (Restricted to 10 downloads per session.)

Provides access to technical literature and conference proceedings on oil and gas exploration and production from twenty-one publishing organizations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Additional topics covered include but are not limited to energy, corrosion, offshore development, and road and subway tunnels. Content from at least one participating organization goes back as far as 1927.

Produced by SAE International, this database indexes technical papers, standards, and conference proceedings relating to mobility systems engineering in the aerospace, automotive, and commercial vehicle industries back to the early 1900s.  SAE International was previously the Society of Automotive Engineers.

Full text content is only available for technical reports from 1998 to the present.

SciFinder-n is the new SciFinder platform, which changed in 2021. It is a comprehensive database for the chemical literature, searchable by topic, author, substances by name or CAS Registry Number, OR by using the editor to draw chemical structures, substructures, or reactions. It is a core research tool for chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, nanotechnology, physics, environmental science and other science and engineering disciplines. Registration is required. NOTE: If you have an active SciFinder registration, it is not necessary to register again for SciFinder-n; the same username will work for both products. For guides and tutorials, see SciFinder-n Training the Materials.
