KU Libraries Associate Dean Hanrath named a 2023-34 ARL Leadership Fellow

The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) has named Scott Hanrath, KU Libraries Associate Dean of Research and Engagement, a 2023-24 Leadership Fellow. The ARL program for senior and executive leaders includes a 13-month hybrid experience.

Hanrath was one of 20 fellows selected from a pool of library leaders from across the United States and Canada. His 16-year career with KU Libraries includes service as Interim Co-Dean of Libraries in 2022-2023, and previous roles of Assistant Dean of Digital Initiatives and Discovery Services, and Director of Libraries Integrated Technology Services.  

“The fellowship program is an exceptional opportunity for senior and executive library leaders with just 20 Leadership Fellows chosen from a very talented and accomplished pool of applicants this year,” Dean of KU Libraries Carol Smith said. “We’re so thrilled that Scott is embracing this remarkable opportunity for partnership, collaboration and learning, representing KU Libraries in a program that advances library work and partnerships worldwide.”
