Libraries’ Winter Welcome events to connect students with resources, community
KU Libraries will host a pair of engaging events during Winter Welcome, Jan. 20–25, designed to help students reconnect with campus and start the spring semester with the tools they need to succeed. The week’s activities invite students to explore library spaces, discover resources, and build community during the first days back on campus.
From the “Warm Up with KU Libraries” event featuring coffee, donuts, and opportunities to connect with librarians and the Dean of Libraries Carol Smith, to a special screening of “Jurassic Park,” programming during KU’s Winter Welcome offers students a chance to experience the libraries in unique ways while emphasizing both academic support and the sense of connection that helps students feel at home at KU.
“We’re excited to welcome students back with a combination of fun and informational activities that highlight the unique resources and services available across campus," said Amber Ovsak, Undergraduate Engagement Librarian. “Whether students are meeting librarians, exploring specialized collections, or enjoying hands-on activities, we want them to feel supported and inspired from the start.”
