KU Libraries open Software Carpentry registration

Monday, November 27, 2017

KU Libraries, along with key partners, are pleased to announce an upcoming Software Carpentry workshop. Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get work done in less time by teaching basic research computing skills. The workshop will be held January 9-10, 2018, in the Price Computing Center Auditorium.

In this two-day workshop, participants will learn how to automate tasks using the Unix shell, how to track and share your work using version control, and how to write software in Python that is readable, reusable and reliable.

The event is held in partnership with the Great Plains Network, K-INBRE, and KU Information Technology.

This workshop is open to faculty, staff and students across disciplines and no prior experience is expected or required.

The workshop is currently full and no longer accepting registrants, though you may learn more about this event at lib.ku.edu/software-carpentry. Additional questions may be addressed to Jamene Brooks-Kieffer at jamenebk@ku.edu.
