Welcome to KU Libraries

This video provides an overview of KU Libraries online resources and services and what they can offer you as a student at the University of Kansas.

Welcome to KU Libraries!

The libraries are your best bet for finding the information sources you need for your research papers, like books and scholarly articles. Use the Quick Search on the homepage to search for everything the libraries have to offer, both physically and online.

If you’re not sure what resources you need, library subject and course guides are a great place to start! Our information experts create these guides to assist students in locating and evaluating information specific to their coursework here at KU. Simply find the area you are researching from our list of subjects and find a curated list of databases, books, and websites hand-picked for your field.

If the source you need isn’t available through KU Libraries, don’t worry!  The Libraries offer a service called “interlibrary loan” in which materials are borrowed from other libraries and delivered to you either electronically or through the mail, free of charge.  To begin the Interlibrary Loan process, simply click the Services tab on the Libraries’ homepage, scroll down and click on the WebRetrieve button, and enter your KU login information.

Need help with your assignment? Don’t know where to start your research? No problem! That’s what we’re here for. Visit the research help desk to get face-to-face help or click the Ask a Librarian button on the website to get virtual help. How late is the library open? How do I start my research? No question is too big or too small for our team of information experts.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet corner to hunker down for a long study session, or a place to meet your classmates to work on a group project, the libraries are here for you. We have coffee, food, group study rooms, printers, and technology that can be checked out from the circulation desk.
